Default Gmail password change renders Gbridge "bricked"

I recently changed my Gmail password, and found that in doing so, Gbridge won't start, nor does Gbridge offer any way at all to start long enough for me to change the password inside Gbridge.

The only workaround (short of uninstalling and reinstalling, which I don't want to do as I'd lose my sync settings) I can see is to log into Gmail, change my password back, start up Gbridge, change the password in Gbridge, then go back to Gmail to re-change the password.

I'd really recommend changing how Gbridge "fails" when it can't authenticate. I looked for an .ini file, something, anything to edit. People *do* change their passwords periodically, and this is somewhat of a PITA.

Other than this issue, I *love* Gbridge.

It should prompt you that the authentication failed and let you type in the new password.

which version you are using?

Sorry for the delay in replying, I guess I didn't have my forum settings to email when there's a reply. I just happened to come back to the forums after upgrading and having a new issue crop up.

I'm sorry, I just upgraded to the current (v2.0.0.1261), and can't find in any of the (extremely long) logs where to find the prevision version.

I have Gbridge installed on an XP Pro SP3 machine and Vista SP1. Same experience with both.

In answer to your question, no authentication prompt (for a new password)....nothing. had to uninstall and reinstall to change the password. The app never loaded enough to get me to a screen where I could change the password.

If you don't mind, can you send the errorlog files to support@gbridge.com?

The errorlogs are located at c:\documents and settings\your-user-name\Application Data\Gbridge

There are two files: Gb_error_0.log and Gb_error_1.log

Thanks!

Will do I'll send them from both machines (XP and Vista), as I was having the same issue on both after changing my Gmail password.
