Default Unable To Re-install

I was using Gbridge 1.1.1177 and tried an automatic update to 1.1.1183 which failed with a message stating that Gbridge was not properly installed, that I could RETRY, REBOOT or JUST EXIT.

I have made just about everything.

First retried.
Then Reboot.
Then performed an uninstall, followed by a REBOOT and a new clean install.

Nothing worked. I am no longer able to install GBridge, with or without firewall.

Whenever I trie, upon REBOOT a blue screen appears.

Using an HP Notebook with Windows Vista Business, AVG Antivirus 8.0.

And ideas?

Default Tried again

Just for the record, I tried installing again version 1183 and when trying to restart the notebook the infamous blue screen appeared. This time I noted the error:

DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

Does that help?

I also noted the following:

During the installation a Message Box appears telling me to say when Windows ask for confirmation once the driver is not signed or logo tested, no such question was asked, perhaps Windows is simply not installing the driver.

Could that be the case?

Why Windows did not ask anything?

Another question: the installation process requires or uses java? If so which version?

Too many question but that is because I want to use Gbridge.

does 1177 still work? You can get it here:
http://www.gbridge.com/check_version/g1177.exe

If you can pause the blue screen ( http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-85775.php ) and provide more information (like parameters) that will be great. ( http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms795679.aspx )

Sorry for the trouble and thanks a lot for debugging this problem for us!!!

Right, if you have installed the driver once, the Windows will cache the result and won't ask you again.

No, gbridge installation process doesn't require or use java.

I have tried uninstalling everything and re-intalling 1177, didn't work either.

I have noticed the following:

After uninstall Gbridge rules are still present in the firewall settings.
Question: shouldn't they have been erased during uninstall?

Also what if during one of the installation or during upgrade I provided the wrong answer to Windows? Is there a way to reset that, I mean, make Windows forget whatever I have answered?

Sorry, we forget to remove the firewall rule.

If you provide the "don't install" answer to windows, windows won't remember it.

We suspect that there is some other network drivers, like firewall/vpn that conflict with Gbridge.

The problem is WINDOWS is not asking anythin anymore.

Is there a way to completely erase any information related to GBRIDGE so that I can try a 'clean install'?
