"GBridge Disconnected" A limit to 16 PCs?

It is true that there is a limit to 16 PCs that can be connected via GBridge?
And, worse...Is it true that once you reach the 16 PC limit your GBridge account is somehow invalidated or corrupted such that no connection using that account will work?

If this information, which I found buried deep in only one place among these postings, is true it's important enough for a Q&A like How many PCs can I connect with answer Be sure not to add Number 16.

Some confirmation of this along with any related repair or recovery advice would be appreciated
