Either I'm stuck on stupid or there's something
I'm missing.

NOTHING I try works.

Not autosync, Not Desktop Share, Not secure Share.

I've looked at the How-Tos, followed the directions.

Seen SecureShare files, but ONLY on the PCs I'm
sharing the files from - not from any other PC.

I've sent invitations, installed GBridge at least 3 - 4
times on 3 - 4 pcs at work and at home and so
far... NOTHING.

I've copied files over to the SecureShare folder
logged in to other PCs and NOTHING.

So far, based on my experience, I'm very unimpressed.

It's not proving very (or) useful to me at all.

We are very sorry for your inconvenience. Would you please provide more information to debug this problem?

Have you us the same google id to log in your multiple computers? Do you see your other online computer's icon and name under the friend tab? Please make sure that you assign DIFFERENT host name for your different computers when you login.

Note that if you are using different google accounts on your different computers, you must explicitly grant permission to other accounts in your SecureShare configuration (right click the secureshare item and select "edit secureshare") on your source computer.

I try not to use the same login on the PCs. Example:

I login at work as elcentro3m.

I login at home as bsbb2much.

Should I be using the same login?

If that's the case then, perhaps I misunderstand the share process.

I don't see the friends. But, as you noted, I have not yet explicitly
granted permission either.

I right clicked on my secure share and clicked on "Notify Allowed
Friends".

I'm not yet seeing any friends, since I've just selected the
notification, I'm assuming that I won't until that process is
properly completed. I won't know that until I get home
later today.

Perhaps that will make a difference.

Perhaps a dumb question, but, is it necessary to have the PC
with the shared folders turned on?

I assumed the answer is "Yes".

Hope this helps you help me.

I was expecting it to be somewhat straightforward.

Is there something somewhere, a video or tutorial which
shows what successful for each of the options consists
of? Otherwise, I'm turning things on or off without knowing
whether or not I'm acting accurately in the process of
setting up the assorted options.

Knowing that would help me better identify if it's a problem
with the process or a problem with my systems configurations.

All I know at this point is that what I'm hoping to setup isn't
working, but, I'm not sure why.

Thanx

If you login using the same google account on different machines, it will be much straightforward to share files between your two pcs. Yes, it is necessary to have the PC with the shared folders powered on and with Gbridge running, because your shared data never stores on any server.

With two different accounts, it involves more steps to share files, simply because of security reasons ( you want that ONLY people allowed explictly by you to be able to see your SecureShare, right?)

In you case, to let elcentro3m sees bsbb2much's share file, you need to do the following:
1. on elcentro3m's gbridge, send an invitation to bsbb2much.
2. bsbb2much accepts the invitation. Now they should be able to see each other's name in the friend tab.
You can skip step 1 and step 2 if elcentro3m and bsbb2much are already friends.
3. on elcentro3m 's pc, edit the secureshare he want bsbb2much to see (right click the secureshare item and select "edit secureshare"), and select bsbb2much as the allowed user. Gbridge may prompt elcentro3m to unblock bsbb2much, please follow the instruction.
5. now bsbb2much should be able to see elcentro3m's secureshare in the friend tab (click the small '+' sign to expend the elcentro3m's icon)
