I noticed after I tested out Gbridge on my home computers, that the vpn adapter created in the network connections appears to be actively enabled even when the program is not running. Is this safe, and intended?

Yes, it is safe. When the program is not running, all the packets whose destination is the Gbridge vitural network (10.239.x.x) will be dropped, and no incoming packet from 10.239.x.x, so it is safe, just like your ethernet cable plugs to a switch that connects to nowhere.

Is 65k addresses enough? Or do you plan to expand to use more of the 10.xx.xx.xx address space as needed?

Very good question!
Gbridge uses a revolutionary virtual dynamic ip scheme. You can have literally unlimited number of computers running Gbridge at the same time, and every computer will have different ip address space. So as long as one computer doesn't connnect to more than 65k computers at the same time, a class B address range is enough for us.
