I HAVE MOVED THIS FROM 'GENERAL' TO 'BUGS'. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY HERE

Hi All,

I have six PCs running XP Pro in my two homes. This problem affects all of them. I am using Gbidge to keep the two sets synched so that when I switch houses everything is ready to go.

Each house has a 'server' PC connected to the internet using a MODEM in half-bridge mode (no NAT) The 'server' runs the XP firewall and ICS to the two 'workstations' for my wife and I. We are using a workgroup.

Every PC has an 'issue' with Gbridge login. Often the application logs on to my (dedicated) Gmail account in in a few seconds. But other times it goes round and round the Gmail servers, tries ports 80 and 443 unsuccessfully and then starts again . Eventually - perhaps after 15 to 20 minutes of this - it will log on.

As a work around, I can exit and restart Gbridge on the local PCs until I get a good one - but the other three are 1000 miles away and must restart after power failure without anyone present; so this matters to me.

I'm at a loss because obviously it's not a ports issue nor an internet access problem as surfing and email are fine. Also, once logged in everything is fine and I'm extremely pleased with it.

Any ideas? Thanks.
