Is the same true for Windows XP x64 Edition? I got the same error when I tried to install it.

If so, I wouldn't mind beta testing or writing a review

Hi my name is Elan and I'm a first time poster here. My friend recommended this program for me so that I could set up a share for some folks who were recently deployed. Sadly this does not support x64 I was curious if it was because of the programs incompatibility with the platform? Or with the overall problems with x64 systems and VPN in general. I know a lot of companies are not offering support, or they are but through various third party programs. (I.E. Junipers networks, or Cisco's: Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client)

Good luck with the future of this program!

We're a mounting group! Please the masses!

If it helps, hamachi worked wonderfully for me in x64...but they just changed licensing, so stinko for the cheapskates.

Gbridge X64 beta is available now. For the one who asked for it, please check your forum message box or email for download location.

Currently the driver is not signed, so you have to disable the "driver sign enforcement" to make it work. you can :
1. reboot the windows and press F8 and select "disable driver sign enforcement", or
2. if you have better way to work around the driver sign issue, please share with the rest of us.

The gbridge x64 beta will be available to the general public in a few days if the feedback is positive.

Does your desktop has higher resolution than your laptop? Gbridge automatically resize the remote windows to fit to your local window. Click vnc viewer's left-top icon and you will find some menus to tweak. Or just do a Ctrl-F11 to disable the auto-scaling

My laptop has a higher resolution than my desktop. I previously tried changing the resolution on my laptop to the same as my desktop and that squashed it even more. However I was able to adjust the screen size using the VNC view's icon - thanks.

An another issue regarding rebooting the windows and press F8 and select "disable driver sign enforcement, should this been done every time the computer is started? I had shut down my laptop after doing that and then turned it on again and I had to again disable driver sign enforcement.

The x64 beta is available to general public now:

http://www.gbridge.com/check_version/gbridge-x64-rc2.exe (http://www.gbridge.com/check_version/gbridge-x64-rc2.exe)

We have signed the x64 driver, so you don't need to disable the "driver verification enforcement" any more. Vista might still complain about "cannot verify publisher" during installation though, you can just ignore it.

Please post your feedback, thanks!

I just installed it and it says the same thing as before (with the beta) about not being installed properly (which before I had to disabled driver verification enforcement).

I had tried uninstalling the beta version and reinstalling the new version but still the same.

Can you try make your regular network "private", see it will help or not? Is your gbridge network "private" on your laptop?

Can you PM me your "ipconfig /all" output on your laptop? and "route print" output. Thanks!

When you access your desktop via regualr network, you specify the ip or the machine name of your desktop?

Now it is working. I had gBridge set to require a password for me to access my own computers. Although when trying to access my regular network, I was trying the password however it didn't go through.

Once I removed the requirement on gBridge for a password to my computers, I could log in to my regular network.

No problems in the install or use with the rc3 beta client.
I have yet to reboot my laptop though if that related error is still there (I use hibernate a lot).
On another note, the desktop share does not show the wallpaper when I vnc to my 32bit desktop, I'm not sure if that is just a limitation on the vnc client or not but wanted to bring it up.

Hi All,
I am not able to share my directory as well as I can not see them when I browse my own shared directory. I think the problem is based on the fact that gbridge recongnise only the first 8 digit of my hostname but my vista machine has a hostname longer than 8 digits and I do not have the admin right to change it.

Can you suggest a solution to bypass this problem?

Can you use gbridge to browse the local SecureShare? If you cannot, likely gbridge is blocked by your local firewall on your vista machine.
