What is your windows version? Any firewall or other VPN software installed? If yes, can you temporarily disable the firewall or VPN and try again? Sorry for the inconvenience.

I guess I know why the install failed for me... probably because I'm running XP x64. Any idea when you guys will support it? Also Vista x64 because the friend I want to share with has that.
Thanks!

I had the same exact problem as Adrian, but I'm using XP x32 Media Center PC. I've followed the instructions both with and without a firewall. No luck. Any ideas. I installed without a problem on my Vista machine.

have you ever by chance disabled the dhcp client service?
do you have any other vpn software installed?
what is the output if you do an "ipconfig" under command prompt? if the ip is "0.0.0.0" under gbridge adapter, try do a "ipconfig /renew".
Thanks!

DHCP was running, but I restarted it anyway.
No other VPN.
Tried ipconfig /renew.
Same result.
Other ideas?

Before give up, please try the following things:
1. disable the windows firewall and "Intermediate Driver" if there is any.
2. restart windows
3. install gbridge
4. restart windows
5. in command prompt, type "ipconfig". it should show an entry called "ethernat adapter gbridge", please check its ip address, if it is 10.239.0.1, you can try to launch gbridge, if it is "0.0.0.0", goto next step
6. lauch wireshark (www.wireshark.org (http://www.wireshark.org)) or ethereal to catch the trace on the gbridge interface.
7. in the command prompt, type "ipconfig /renew"
8. stop the wireshak or ethereal, if you don't mind, send me the trace.
9. do a "ipconfig" again to check whether the 10.239.0.1 is assigned to the gbridge adapter.
Thanks a lot for help us to debug this installation problem!

I got to step 5 and "ipconfig" did not return an "ethernet adapter gbridge", only "Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection" and "Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection" with their appropriate IP addresses.
I did not go on to the rest of the steps.
Should I? Or do I need to do something else?

this is very strange. Is there any error message during installation?
Can you provide me the exact version of your windows and service pack level? Thanks!

No error messages, just the warning that installation may take a few minutes and not to interrupt.
I am running Windows XP Media Center Edition, Version 5.5 (Build 2600.xpsp.080413-2111: Service Pack 3)

Current public release doesn't support 64bit vista. but you cantry the x64 beta rc3. Try at your own risk though.
http://www.gbridge.com/check_version/gbridge-x64-rc3.exe (http://www.gbridge.com/check_version/gbridge-x64-rc3.exe)
We have signed the x64 driver, so you don't need to disable the "driver verification enforcement" any more. Vista might still complain about "cannot verify publisher" during installation though, you can just ignore it.
Please post your feedback, thanks!
just start the dhcp service, n retry its worked fine for me !!
Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > DHCP
right click n start, if the start of stop options are disabled then go to the Properties,
Choose Manual or Automatic from Startup Type dropdown, APPLY, START !!

Is intreresting to see wath happened (Specially foy Mr admin and for Bonaventure ).
Looks like the WINS settimg at the TCP/IP protocol tag !.
I have three PCs named d24, 25 and d26.
I used to have GBridge working in two PC's (d25 & d26) and was unable to install GB in a third one (d24).
At the begining, using ipconfig /all I found the following, at the LAN connector :
at d24 - DNS Suffix Search List: nothing ---- I was unable to install GB at this PC
at d25 - DNS Suffix Search List: d25 ---- Exactly the PC name. It was not enter by me
at d26 - DNS Suffix Search List: gbridge.net ---- It was not enter by me
Just putting PCname (d24) at DNS in the TCP/IP protocol solved the problen and GBridge installed (after restart) without any flaw.

The question for Mr admin is:
Who should place and where gbridge.net?
Hope this help. Best regards

Thanks a lot, adri80386! Can you repost the screenshot? can you post or pm the ipconfig /all output? What is you windows version? Do you configure the static ip/dns for the gbridge interface or still use dhcp? Thanks!
