virus issue?

hi guys, I found out about gbridge and installed right away at my office computer with the idea of going home and do the same thing to see if I could connect to my work and work from home. So I installed around 3:00pm and a coworker got a virus around 5:00pm with tons of pop ups etc... I then realized that I could potentially open a port for intruders? I am worried and don't know if this was just all random coincidence or if this is a potential issue when using gbridge. I am not a computer expert so any guidance will help.

It must be a coincidence.

We are very careful about our release procedure. We use download.com as main download source. download.com runs thorough virus scan before we can publish anything. Please make sure that the downloaded Gbridge installed is properly signed by Gbridge llc.
