View Full Version : Virtual KM
I love gbridge for the remote pc over vpn access, but recently started looking into virtual KM, like synergy+, software for work. At my desk, I have my regular PC on the main network, a linux box on another network segment, and a laptop that is connected to an external line. Synergy+ can't connect all three, and it doesn't encrypt traffic. Gbridge has an advantage here in that it runs everything through that encrypted channel over the internet, meaning virtual KM software would work regardless of network segment as long as there was internet access, and it would be encrypted.
(Also, like the thread from 2008 said, it would be nice to run as a service.)

Right on, I love GBridge as well!
I've neglected the forum and resolve alot of issues on my own. But I've been using GBridge since it came out, and I'm running out of options that I find interesting so here I am now at the forum. And it's interesting to see what issues I've worked past compared to others solutions and updates.
A few things I've done that are not mentioned on the GBridge website as a feature is the ability to map network drives to a shared folder (great for when you just want to right on something and send it back to the house/office in second).
I also use VMware products to run through GBridge. So with that mapped network drive I can have the VM data on a foreign hard disk, and play through GBridge.
Another cool thing is the virtual ip address assignments, with GBridge running I can use Microsoft’s remote desktop connection and just type in the virtual IP in and configuring the rest is up to your personal pref. I have a half and half remote configuration I’ve done, with the virtual IP of the host and using the ISP gateway. If you’re ISP doesn’t provide a nice gateway then you may use your virtual Server address for a full virtual remote connection. More options are available like terminals and so on..

Can you detail how you mapped a windows network drive to a gbridge shared folder? I'm trying like this: \\peer.user.gbridge.net\sharename in windows 7, but it doesn't work. Thanks!
