I just started using this program yesterday and so far I really like it, it suits a bunch of my needs.

However, I saw in the FAQ that the chat message from my friend goes to all of my computers till I answer from a particular computer. Well I was testing things out and noticed that when chatting, my friends messages kept coming through to all 3 computers that are "my computers" even when I had answered him from a particular one. When I closed the chat window 2 of the 3 computers, it popped back up the next time he messaged me on those 2 computers (as well as the one I was chatting on). Is this the way its supposed to work? When I answered him the window stayed up on the other 2 computers.

Then when I closed all the chat windows manually and went to talk to him through my gmail chat box. It popped up again on the other 2 computers. I finally had to close the program on those computers that I didn't want the chat box to pop up on.

If this is how it works, it make the chat function basically useless, if not a problem. Because the 3 home computers I have linked, belong to different people in the family.

Any advice?

Let me explain how it happens.

Assume you have two computers, A and B online. You friend F want to chat with you. F clicks your name in the friend tab to init an chat session. The problem is that the Gbridge on F's computer doesn't know whether you are using A or B (or other computers that is invisible to him), so it has to broadcast the message to every computer under your name. Once you reply from A, the Gbridge on F's computer knows where you are and will send all subsequent message to A. What if you leave A and start to use B? You can either send a message from B to F, or F can click your name icon again to sent a broadcast message that can reach you.

We will add an option in the next release so the incoming broadcast chat message will be ignored.

Sorry for the confusion and thanks for using Gbridge!

Is it possible to change the status of my identity in chat? (to something like away or invisible or the like)

And is it possible to make only one of my computers on gbridge able to receive chats?

I also have a question about the chat. I use it a lot but I would like a notfication to receive a chat rather than have a window with the conversation just pop up. Maybe a blinking tray icon to alert of an incoming chat? I cannot find a way to change my status nor to suppress chat without entirely blocking a friend.

The latest release 1.0.0.1125 added an "ignore broadcast message" options in the advance option dialog. Please upgrade. Thanks!
