I am trying to remote control my home pc from work. I can access a folder I have shared but I cannot get the Desktop Share to work. The program asks me for the password and I enter it. The VNC viewer box says password accepted, but nothing happens after that.

Which version of windows you are running on your home pc? If it is windows xp pro, I will suggest you to use MS windows remote desktop through Gbridge, the performance is much better.
Can you run a DesktopShare self test on your home pc? Click "DesktopShare" and select "Test Gbridge DesktopShare on this computer". If it passes, it should show a stack of windows. Otherwise you need to configure the firewall to allow gbwinvnc.exe to accept incoming connections.

I am running Windows XP Pro SP2 on both computers. I will try the test when I get home. Thanks for the tip.

I'm having exactly the same problem.
From my home computer to my work computer, I can use VNC, but the reverse path does not work. It will ask for and accept the password, but then just sit there being dumb. It will show link data in the Links tab for the computer it's connecting to, but no actual movement aside from that.

I noticed the same thing but one additional thing that I noticed is that when the system locks the logged in account, that is when I can no longer connect through gbridge Desktop Share. If I go and log back in on the XP box, then everything is fine. Maybe that is the same thing you all are experiencing. If so, use windows remote desktop and that should take care of it for you.
