So i have been using gbridge for a few years now and i recently switched my office over from standard analog phone systems to voip systems. There is a program that is supplied by my provider (Ringcentral) which is called a softphone and provides phone like functionality through a computer. When gbridge is running, the softphone wont log in, and when the softphone is running gbridge wont connect. The ports that the softphone use are 5060-5090 mainly and beyond that i don't know what could be causing the issue between the two. Has anyone had a similar issue or would anyone know how to rectify the problem?

Thanks,
 Jeremy

This will most likely be of little help, but maybe - just maybe - it might.

I believe that you are on the right track with the ports being the problem. A while ago I installed XAMPP (http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html), which basically helps you to set up everything you need for a good web server. Unfortunately when I started it, the apache server did not want to run.

No matter what I did, I couldn't find out what was wrong. That was until I read on their website (should have done it sooner ;) ) that Skype hogs certain ports even if it doesn't use it.

My guess is that your VOIP service is doing the same. Even though the port is not in use, it could still be sticking it's claim down on it. In Skype you could go and change the settings to circumvent this problem. Perhaps that is possible with your program as well.

Naturally I don't have to say this but, please be careful when changing settings. It may do more harm than good. Though I suggest you consider the suggestion I made above, I strongly suggest that you wait a bit and see if the Admin or someone else with more knowledge posts something.

Either way, hope you manage to find a solution. Good luck!

Please try specify a port that isnot used by softphone in the gbridge advanced option.
