Hi,

After installing Gbridge (2.0.0.1322) on Windows Vista machine I cannot make it work. I am able to log in, and see my computers. But I am not able to get VPN running. After couple of seconds from getting Gbridge window I get an error:
"Gbridge Virtual Network Interface Card error" - GBridge is not installed properly or the driver has been disabled. error=3 Please reboot, reinstall Gbridge, then reboot and try again.

then,

another window appears:

Cannot start SecureShare server(0), Please check your firewall setting and restart Gbridge

I tried following:
1. Check Device Manager - Gbridge network interface is there and enabled,
2. Disable firewall (I am running Eset)
3. Reset Gbridge config
4. Change binding order
5. Re-install using Revo Unistaller

The strange thing is that I used to have Gbridge running smoothly, but after re-installing system from image it was not possible to install Gbridge without getting the error mentioned above.

I hope somebody of you guys could help me... I really like this software I don't want to change it for anything else!

Just in case I have attached error screens and log file.

Cheers,
Mike

Finally, I have reinstalled system from backup. The problem has vanished. I guess the issue was caused by eset firewall.

I'm having this same problem, but it's not my firewall. Even when I have my McAffee firewall turned off and making sure Windows Firewall is off, I'm still getting this error.
I can see my other computer, but it won't let me connect and gives me the error message about not being able to find the Virtual Network Card.
I AM behind a router. Is there a port that I have to forward ? Gbridge was working fine until I did a system reload on this computer and then reinstalled Gbridge.

I am also getting the problem with Secure Share server not starting.

Is this a McAfee Virus scanner related issue?

likely it is caused by firewall. You need to add gbridge.exe to the Allow List of your firewall.

I've installed v 2.0.0.1322 on 3 compters on my home network and like others have said, they can all "see" each other but I cannot connect them.

Here's what I have:

My Network: Motorola Surfboard Modem to Linksys WRT54G wireless/wired router
Machine1: PC running XP Pro/wired/McAfee protection
Machine2: PC running XP Home/wired/McAfee protection
Machine3: Laptop running Vista 32-bit/wireless/McAfee protection

The problem is on Machines 1 & 2 I keep getting the 2 messageboxes, but not on Machine 3:

"Cannot find Gbridge Virtual Network Interface Card; Gbridge is not installed properly or the driver has been disabled error = 3. Please reboot, reinstall Gbridge, then reboot and try again."

"Cannot start SecureShare server(0). Please check your firewall setting and restart Gbridge"

I've compared the Windows Firewall exceptions and the McAfee Firewall exceptions and Gbridge is allowed Full access to both on all 3 machines. I have rebooted and reinstalled to no avail. Any thing I can try?

I had to delete McAfee to get Gbridge to work. I have yet to find the work around for it. I tried to add Gbridge to the approved list with full access and it did not work. I needed Gbridge, so I uninstalled McAfee and using windows firewall. Will try to install McAfee now that Gbridge is set up and see if I can get them both to play nice....
