Should I be able to connect to a port via the gbridge DNS name ?

I can connect to a local port on the same LAN :

http://devel-64.shermes641.gbridge.net:8070/subversion.

and tcping shows the port is open

tcping devel-64.shermes641.gbridge.net 8070

Probing 10.239.0.2:8070/tcp - Port is open - time=1.897ms
Probing 10.239.0.2:8070/tcp - Port is open - time=0.781ms
Probing 10.239.0.2:8070/tcp - Port is open - time=0.782ms
Probing 10.239.0.2:8070/tcp - Port is open - time=0.782ms

But I can not connect when trying to connect over the internet.
Even tcping times out

tcping devel-64.shermes641.gbridge.net 8070

Probing 10.239.0.2:8070/tcp - Connection timed out (10060) - time=21013.260ms
Probing 10.239.0.2:8070/tcp - Connection timed out (10060) - time=20997.640ms
Probing 10.239.0.2:8070/tcp - Connection timed out (10060) - time=21000.345ms
Probing 10.239.0.2:8070/tcp - Connection timed out (10060) - time=21001.991ms

It sounds like you need to take a look into the Router settings. Typically when you can handle things, no problem, over a LAN, but not WAN, then it's another firewall in between... meaning a router. So on one end or the other, you've probably got the router blocking you. The easiest way to find out exactly what's going on would be to look into your router firewall logs, and see what it says... then you can proceed from there.

If those are your real IP addresses you're working with, and you're already here talking about remote access, and obviously using a specific product, I don't think I'd want to post my IP addresses publicly in that manner. You could always redact those numbers when posting - the necessary info for others to see is not related to your specific IP address.

I think kjv, just nailed that one on the head. If you're LAN works fine here are some questions for you.

Wireless, or ethernet cable?
Are you running McAfee?
What type of routers, and do you even have access to the admin properties on those router?
Last, but not least.. What connection strength are you at on GBridge, Excellent/good/fair?

Excellent = you have port forwarding available and it’s directly connected through tunneling.
Good = some data may have to be relayed through GBridge/GTalk servers, but maybe not all.
Fair = All data is being transmitted through GBridge/GTalk servers. (a side note: SSL over satellite on Ethernet )

The soloution can be different depending on those factors.

But if you have access your home router just check to make sure both ports are forwarded through the router firewall (if any).
Also, make sure GBridge is set to run on your firewall setting on your native machine. And again, forward both UDP and TCP ports.

Too much pain? Just set GBridge to automatically configure TCP/UDP tunneling, and enjoy life

Gbridge has internal firewall rules. For security reasons, by default, only http (80) and some vnc related ports are open, and sync and udp from remote gbridge hosts are dropped (and logged). You can remove these restrictions by clicking 'options' -> 'advanced options' and making change under "Gbridge firewall for incoming traffic".

80, 443 and 5222 are used to communicate with gtalk servers.

The "Gbridge firewall for incoming traffic" only controls ports on the Gbridge virtual nic.
