GBridge was working great from my home network. I was hoping to use Gbridge to control my home pc from work.
When I start up GBridge from my work network, it says:
GBridge Login In Process
And it just hangs. Eventually, it goes away and then the same message pops up again.
I read elsewhere in the forums that you can startup GBridge without UPNP, but I don't have that option in my programs group. Any suggestions to get GBridge to login behind a coporate firewall, which I'm sure is blocking some ports that GBridge is attempting to access.
I can however, access GTalk and other gmail services without problem.
Thanks in advance

When Gbridge is trying to log in to the Gtalk servers, it show the "Gbridge login in process" window. Gbridge will try to contact a list of servers, using different ports. If port 80 and port 5222 are blocked, it may takes some time before Gbridge declares login failure.
When you mentioned you can access Gtalk, do you mean you can log in using the Gtalk standalone program? Or just web based Gtalk or Gtalk widget?
I have the same problem.
Gbridge is stuck in "Gbridge Login in process".
My googletalk.exe is connected to port http and https without problem.
It is possible that in this workplace computer, the outgoing port 5222 is blocked, but is it needed?

Sorry for the inconvenience.
Does Gbridge eventually prompt you that it is blocked by firewall? Can you PM me the error log? It is located in
C:\Documents and Settings\your-username\My Documents\gbridge\Gb_error_0.log
Thanks!

Hi,
Also having a similar problem (version 1.0.0.1124 Win XP)
However it usually my work proxy that causes the problem (but both MSN and Skype manage their way through).
Is it worth emailing the error log?
Cheers,
Matt.

In my case the log is in "yourshit." I renamed the directory because all sorts of Windows programs put their own rubbish there. Anyone who is the least bit security conscious would be stupid to put their own stuff in "my documents."
Having said that, I am having the same login problem. The claim by the program that port 80 is blocked is simply wrong. I don't know about 5222.
I am on a university network with a Windows domain system. In addition, to get access to the university network, I must log on to an internal Alcatel VPN.
logmein works out bound on this system but not currently inbound (it did until a few weeks ago). wallcooler works in/out on this system. hamachi works in/out albeit slowly in the free version because it does relaying.
I can send the log file if it is helpful.

I am also in the same quandary. I did open port 5222 on my router but it 's still stuck. My port is mapped to the ip of my desktop, does it need to be mapped to the ip of the gbridge virtual connection?

assigning a static ip to gbridge disrupts my network. so that wont work.

bwana, can you pm me the errorolog file? btw, you don't need to map 5222 to the ip of your desktop. As long as your router/firewall allow outgoing 5222 or 80 traffic, you should be fine.
the errorlog is located at "c:\documents and setting\you-name\application data\gbridge"
