Hi GBridge Developers,

I am just curious how this would work with a Windows 2003 Small Business server with Microsoft Exchange installed? I would like to use GBridge to back up this server to an off-site computer... Is this application feasible for this situation?

Thanks in advance!

Is there anything I should be concerned about within my network of about 7 computers that are connected to the server? Internal DNS and so on...

Thanks again,
Nick

I attempted to install GBridge on Windows 2003 SBS a few days ago and it crashed my server. I am not sure what caused the problem, but I had to start the server in the safe mode and uninstall GBridge, restart and things worked fine after that. Has anyone had similar problems with Windows 2003 SBS?

Hi Dan,

Actually it did the same thing to me on our 2003 Small Business Server. It appears that somehow GBridge modified our internal domain or dns, and there was a constant loop of some sort with connect up the service to our network, so the computers could connect.

What I did to get it back online is the restore previous settings and we were back up.

GBridge developers, can you look into this issue and let us know why or what we can do to resolve this?

Thank you,
Nick

Hi GBridge,

You have a great product here, and I am curious if there has been any testing or progress into this issue...? It would be nice to know if this is in the plans or not.

Thank you,
Nick

I had a similar problem with SBS2003. It hung up when windows tried to initialize the network on startup. It works on my XP Workstation. So I mapped the directories on the server that I would like to backup, through my workstation.

...a workaround.

I installed Gbridge on a server to allow temporary access to somebody and it worked great until I needed to reboot the server for a software update. The server locked up on configuring network settings. I had to go into safe mode and un-install Gbridge. It booted up fine after that. Something with the Gbridge virtual network adapter is causing an issue. It works great as long as you don't have to reboot.

Hi, I am new to Gbridge and I have to say I love it. I work for a non-profit and I have been trying to find inexpensive ways to upgrade our technology. We serve 11 counties in West Virginia with 9 different office locations so trying to stay connected and share information and documents has been a challenge. We have a server located in our home office which we keep important documents and files that the other offices should be able to access. I think Gbridge would allow us to do that and it would be great. After reading some of these posts about Gbridge messing up servers running Windows Server 2003 it has me a little worried about installing it on my server. I have tested and it works fine on my workstations. I was just wondering if it is still a problem and if there is anything I can do to use is one my server. Also I was wondering if there was a way to select a specific file to save the back up to rather than the C:/gbridebackup file. Example: I would like to have different folders for my staff on the server and when their auto back up runs it saves it to their specific folder. Thanks

Randy

I am using SBS 2003 also - Is there a way to run Gbridge as a serveice. Also has there been a work around for the Virtual Network consern.
Did an installation on my server thinking the update might have had the fix, but unfortunatly it didnot. Had the same issue as server had no internet access after a reboot. Removed the GBridge in safe mode and system returned to normal operation. Was wanting to use the application to back up on SBS to another remote SBS. Has any one found a work around?
I think this will be a great application of this service if these small issues get resolved.
