Hello

Great idea!

I just can't get it to work.

I am in the UK, downloaded the latest version (I think).

I am using an old gMail address which has been running for a few years. I have also tried a brand new googlemail address.

The gBridge logon screen comes up and lets me log on, it seems to connect and an icon appears in my system tray (WinXP) but that is it. As soon as I try to click on the icon it disappears and there is no sign of the process running in task manager.

This happens on two different PCs. Both running XP SP3. Both beind the same router, one connected via ethernet and one via WiFi. Neither is having any problems connecting to the internet. Both can log on to gMail with both usernames.

Am I doing something really stupid?

Don't worry I have cocked that the icons arn't hidden!

Cheers

Very sorry for the inconvenience!

Did it prompt you to send an error report after crash?

BTW, the current Gbridge still have some problems if you are using a UK or Germany Google account. A fix will be released very soon.

Thanks for reporting this problem!

Thanks.

No, there was no error report, it just puts an icon in the system tray which disappears as soon as you try to click on it.

Please upgrade to the latest version (1.0.0.1124). Since you cannot do the upgrade in Gbridge window, please do the upgrade by downloading from http://www.gbridge.com and install.

If the behavior doesn't change. Please try to use Gbridge with UPNP turned off:
1. click the Windows 'start' button
2. select 'Program'
3. in the 'Gbridge' group, click 'Gbridge (no upnp)' to lauch the Gbridge without UPNP.
4. if it works after turn off UPNP, you can turn UPNP off permanently by
A. click 'Options' icon, and select 'Advanced Options'
B. in the dialog, uncheck the 'Use UPNP' checkbox.
C. click 'Apply and Restart Gbridge' button.
D. now the UPNP is always off and you can start Gbridge in the normal way.

Please let us know the result. BTW, which router you are using?

Thanks

The UPNP seems to have worked.

I uninstalled the previous gBridge and downloaded and reinstalled.

It did not work, but doing the UPNP option has worked.

I have tried it behind a couple of routers via a couple of ADSL providers.

I am currently on virgin.net in the UK which uses a NTL cable modem and I have a Netgear router plugged into that.

I'll let you know how I get on when I put it on my home PC.

Glad to know the non-upnp option works. Do you know the exact router model and firmware version? Thanks!
