I created a secure share folder but when I click on it, I get a 403 forbidden. What am I doing wrong?

Was that SecureShare created on another computer of yours (ie, logged in with same user name?) When you created that share, did you provide yourself access right?
Also as a method to debug the problem, you can try to see if you can access the secureshare on the "same" computer you created it to see if that works.

Since we can not reproduce the problem, it would be very helpful to provide us more information about this problem: What is the name of secureshare, how did you created it and how did you access it. Also which version of gbridge are you using and whether the older version has same problem or not. (Maybe you can try again to see if you can reproduce the problem as well).

Thanks a lot!

(BTW, I just tried and found if you try to browse a non-existing secureshare, we would return 403 error, not sure if that is the problem you had seen)

I was using RDP into a server. I created a test folder when I originally installed Gbridge the same way and it is working perfectly, but when I try to create the new I get the 403 from the server I was creating it on. I can see it from my PC but I can't access it.

Are they running same version (also latest version? Maybe you can update both to latest version to make sure they are on the same page.) Also can you give us the name of the test folder (any special characters?). And if you log in two servers using different log in, did you give proper access right?

the versions are the same, both downloaded on the same day from download.com. But it doesn't matter because I get the error when I try to test it from the gbridge on the machine it is installed on. The name of the test folder is test. the name of the new folder is HP but I have tried many different names of the folder, created it different locations on the server from the root of c to my documents, it still comes up as 403 forbidden when I try to access it from gbridge.

Can you try to access it from the machine you created the secure share, and go to "SecureShares" tab, find the "Names" column, and then click on the entry you created, it would automatically launch a browser window to show that secure share. I just want to make sure there is not any typo or confusion on the "URL" used to locate that secure share. Also can you access the folder you used for secureshare (Test, HP) correctly by windows file explorer? Will restart gbridge/windows helps?

Thanks and sorry for the trouble so far. It is a bit odd since we haven't received similar report from other users, and I can not reproduce your problem on my computer.

have you configured proxy on your browser? sometime it may caused issues.

I'm running Vista as this machine came with it loaded. I created a directory under my C drive on the machine I have Gbridge loaded on. The directory name is Jazz. I went into the permissions on this folder after first getting the error and made sure to turn all the id's on to full control. I'm running Gbridge Version 1.0.0.1184 and trying to access the folder from the same machine I created it on. I can get to the test one that loaded with Gbridge, but get the 403 error when I try to access the Jazz folder. So now there are at least two users with this problem!

Can you paste the error message under the "log" tab? Any special character in the SecureShare name?

Below is what I got yesterday, even though this paste is from today. The reason is I can now get into the shares I created yesterday. I created this one just now to see if I could duplicate the error message on a newly created secure share and I was able to. Later I will test to see if a reboot clears up the problem.

After you create the SecureShare while not be able to access it, does it show up in the SecureShare list? To list the secureshares through browser, please browse http://your-machine-name.you-googleaccount.gbridge.net on your browser. On just click your machine icon and select "Browse Gbridge SecureShares..." on Gbridge window.

Can you reliably reproduce the problem? Somehow we cannot reproduce the problem in house.

Thank you for debuging this problem for us! It is very important for us to solve this problem.

I am having the exact same issue on Windows 7. I have a sucessful share on my c:\temp and my c:\users\name\pictures and they both appear when I click to browse them. However... when I do a share on c:\users\name\My Documents, I get the exact same 404 error when I click on the Name, when I click on the directory, it tells me c:\users\name\My Documents is not accessible, Access denied pop-up window.
