Hi all
This is my first post here.
Congrats to Gbridge team for this excelent program!
I have been testing it for 2 weeks and have 2 problems:
i) At my home using windows XP, and configured router to port UDP = TCP = 62050 I never get Excelent connectivity! Always Good! How can I improve this?
ii) At my sister's home using Vista Ultimate, I cannot use VNC with zonealarm ON.
Even with all the permissions (allow in Green) for the following programs: Gbridge, GBVNVViewer and VNC server. How can I solve this situation?
Thank you very much

Glad to know you like Gbridge!

Are you running any firewall (like zonealarm) on your XP? We know that some firewall (like zonealarm) may degrad your connectivity. To test that, you can temperairly disable the firewall and try restart Gbridge.

Which step failed when you try to VNC to your sister's PC? Does the Desktopshare self-test pass? BTW, you need to add GBwinvnc.exe to the firewall run. Again, you may want to temperairly disable the firewall and try again.

iii) New problem: On a third PC running win XP media center, zonealarm PRO, I get periodically the message: "due to firewall blocking all communications have to be relayed". On this computer I always have Excelent connectivity and when this message appears, the connectivity falls down to Fair for moments, then gets back to Excelent!

Is your pc behind some corperate firewall? If not, what is the home router brand/model? Are you running heavy traffic through the router, e.g. BT?

iii) third problem: SOLVED!
Only problem to solve - problem i)
"I'm running zonealarm but with or without can never get better than GOOD! "
To the same router I have another computer running gbridge with excelent connectivity!
The PC with "GOOD" is an old PC pentium III Gateway 500MHZ SOLO 9300, with 288MB RAM.

Can you use wireshark (ethereal) to collect a trace?
1. stop gbridge
2. start trace-collect
3. start gbridge
4. wait 1 min, stop trace-collec

I just installed wireshark.
Could you just please give me some hints to use it?
Shall I choose Gbridge on the interface?
Then I just click start, open gbridge and click stop after 1 min?
Thanks for the help, I really want to run this wonderful program 100%
